Reasons for self-ignition of forklifts
Forklifts belong to special equipment. Under the action of high temperature weather, combined with vehicle wiring, violation of regulations and other factors, the self-ignition of forklifts is not a theoretical joke, but an accident case that has occurred many times.
1, leakage
When the forklift is working, the safety of the entire vehicle circuit cannot be ignored. There is a possibility of leakage after the line is exposed or aging. Once the leakage is not only directly harmful to people, under high temperature conditions, contact with flammable substances may cause a fire accident.
The leakage problem of the battery forklift is even more important. The surface connection of the battery must be kept clean. Dust and impurities must be clean and clean with a wet rag. Otherwise, it may cause leakage or even a fire.
2, ground
In the spontaneous combustion accident caused by line faults, the main cause is grounding.
Common faults are: “broken skin” between the cable and the frame and the clamp due to vibration and friction; the taillights and brake light wires are “broken” due to vibration and friction; the lamp seat is installed due to vibration and connecting parts. The damage of the insulation causes the insulation to be loose, damaged, etc.; when the vehicle is running or parked, it will automatically lay iron and prolong the fire, generate high temperature, causing damage to the insulation (or foreskin) of the electrical appliances, switches and wires, thereby increasing the jump. The fire range expands the high temperature area and eventually causes self-ignition and fire in contact with paint, leaking oil, and flammable materials.
3, oil spill
Leaking oil is the most horrible flammable material, and it is very important to prevent fuel leakage. When the fuel in the car leaks, the motor vehicle itself has many sources of ignition that can ignite the fire:
(1) High-voltage electric spark generated by the point system;
(2) High temperature arc generated when the battery is externally short-circuited;
(3) The hot high temperature generated by engine exhaust or the carbon deposited sparks.
The oil leakage point is mostly at the joint, the rubber tube is in contact with the heat outside the body (the movable rod), and the joint between the fixed part and the non-fixed part is weak.
4, electrical failure short circuit
Failure case 1
The common start switch is welded due to the sintering of the contact, and the magnetic switch of the starter cannot be released, which causes the starter to start for a long time (the start-up time of the starter is 5s), causing the starter to heat up.
Failure case 2
After the vehicle is turned off, the ammeter should return to zero, but the reverse current breaker contact of the engine regulator is still closed for some reason, causing the battery current to flow back to the generator and its electrical circuit causing a fire.
5, the contact resistance is too large
If the line contact is not real and the local resistance is too large, heat is generated, and the heat of the wire contact causes the combustible material to ignite.
Most of the situations caused by the vehicle are caused by long-term vibration or cold and heat changes during driving, which makes the line contacts loose. In particular, when the surface of the battery or the terminal has impurities, the oil will corrode for a long time, causing the connection point to loosen, fire, and ignite.
When the vehicle is being decorated, additional equipment, automatic alarm devices, air conditioners, etc. are added, and fires will inevitably occur due to the indiscriminate connection of the power supply and the increase of the load or the contact points.
6, mechanical friction and fire
(1) The lubrication system of the vehicle engine is short of oil. The surfaces of the parts are in contact with each other and move relative to each other. The friction generates high temperature. If it comes into contact with combustible materials, it may cause fire.
(2) The brake pad clearance of the vehicle is too tight to cause a fire.
(3) The friction between the generator and the starter commutator and the brush can also cause sparks, and the leaked fuel may cause a fire.
7, improper parking location
In high temperature weather, the temperature of the engine and exhaust pipe of the forklift is very high, so the parking position of the vehicle will also have an important impact.
Note two things:
A. It is strictly forbidden to park the car near flammable materials, which will cause flammable materials to catch fire.
B. It is strictly forbidden to expose the vehicle to the sun, and the oil will volatilize at high temperature. If it is sparked, it may ignite spontaneously.

Regularly maintain and maintain the vehicle, check whether the electrical appliances, switches and wires are leaking, strengthen the oil and gas leakage inspection, and promptly eliminate the "leakage", "oil leakage", "leakage" and other faults, replace the defective parts, and ensure the vehicle circuit and oil circuit.
